Livro Atlas Scipione

O desafio era o de criar um Atlas para ensino médio, como material de apoio às escolas públicas, que fugisse do lugar comum. Em um projeto elegante, sugeri a inserção de uma linha do tempo que corresse por todo o livro, expandindo o conteúdo, para apresentar alguns temas que normalmente não estariam presentes em um atlas: um pouco de história da arte, arquitetura, vestuário de cada época, retratos de personalidades importantes e ilustrações de revoluções. Dessa forma, alunos de baixa renda, sem a possibilidade de viajar e conhecer os locais, poderiam ter acesso à informação de forma complementar e facilmente reconhecível, auxiliado no processo de compreensão do conteúdo com referências visuais pertinentes. O Atlas ficou como 3º colocado no Concurso Jabuti de 2012. A ilustração de capa foi encomendada pela editora a partir de um estudo bastante inicial, onde inseri as cores marcantes do miolo para marcar as épocas estudadas. Ilustrações: Rica Cammarota. The challenge was to create a high school atlas, intended as a support material for public schools, that broke away from conventional approaches. In an elegant and innovative project, I proposed the inclusion of a continuous timeline running throughout the book to expand the content. This allowed for the introduction of topics not typically found in atlases: a bit of art history, architecture, clothing styles from different eras, portraits of key historical figures, and illustrations of revolutions. The aim was to offer students from low-income backgrounds—who might not have the opportunity to travel and see these places firsthand—access to enriching, complementary content presented in a visually engaging and easily relatable way. This helped deepen their understanding by providing strong visual references tied to the academic material. The atlas was awarded 3rd place in the 2012 Jabuti Prize. The cover illustration was commissioned by the publisher where I introduced the vivid colors used in the interior layout to represent the different historical periods explored in the book.
